The Lady Buffs tee’d it up last Monday, here at home at Buffalo Dunes. This was the Lady Buffs fourth Western Athletic Confrence tournament and it was played in rough conditions.

They won by four shots shooting a 384, four shots ahead of Hay’s High. The tournament was won by Hay’s Indians Haley Dinkel, she fired a 3 over par for a 75, 15 shots infront of runner-up Alyssa McMillen, of the Buffs, and Corey Mein, of Liberal. The Buffs had three solid scores with Alyssa McMillen shooting a 90, Elena Lemke with a 92, and Morgan Cabral that shot a 94 that gave the Buffs the victory.

“I think we’re improving a lot every tournament. We’ve won our last three tournaments and we’re building a lot of confidence,” head coach Jacob Waller said, “I am excited to see what the rest of the season holds and I fill like we are going to do good on the bigger tournaments to come,” Waller said. The Buffs have a lot of confidence midway through their season.

“We have been playing well and we have won three straight tournaments so that gives us a lot of confidence but we still have a lot to work on,” Morgan Cabral senior said, “We need to stay consistent through the rest of the season and we will do well in regionals and state,” Cabral said. The Buffs are sitting well in the WAC conference, but they will need a strong finish to out on top.

“I have been playing good in all my tournaments but I need to keep it up since the season is coming to an end,” Alyssa McMillen senior said, “The way we we’re playing right now is how we need to play at the end of our season when it is state time.” McMillen said. The Buffs will get back on the course tomorrow in Liberal Thursday September 28, at 3 p.m.
