Saddler crowned Crystal Apple king

The Crystal Apple program, through the Garden City Area Chamber of Commerce, honors outstanding teachers in Finney County. The top three finalists will be named as Crystal Apple Teachers and will receive an engraved crystal apple, $1,000 cash award, and an iPad tablet.

All ages impress at District Art Show

The Garden City High School art students presented their creative works in the 1st annual district K-12 art show on Nov. 14. The show gave students the opportunity to present a wide variety of medias including drawing, painting, graphic design, sculpture, mixed media and ceramics. Esmeralda Sepulveda, a senior in the red academy created a portrait of Alex Turner. 

Future Farmers of America take action

The Future Farmers of America organization creates leadership potential and provides personal growth and job preparation for all it’s members through agricultural education. On Nov. 15, FFA members traveled to Dodge City and competed at the Southwest Kansas District CDE Contest. 

Bight start in the “Big City”

Every year, Carnegie Hall invites hundreds of musically talented high school students from around the world, to preform and get the feel of preforming with people who are equally skilled and share the same love for music.

Boys basketball aims for success

As fall sports come to an end, winter sports begin. Last season the boys finished with an 11-12 record, and also made it to state but unfortunately lost their first game the the defending state champs.
