Running, jumping and throwing their way to the state track meet is the goal of many Buffaloes.
And the high school track team was off to a good start as they took first place in Ulysses, Kansas at their high school track meet.
“Our season is looking really good.” Demarcus Elliot, senior said, “we have a lot of talent and I believe we can do really well.”
The girls team placed first overall with Brooke Navarro taking second in the 800 meter run. Brooke also took place first in the mile. Georgia Kohlhorst and Mya Navarro took fourth and fifth respectively in the 2 mile.
“As a team i think were pretty strong, our last meet went super well for both boys and girls,” Mariah Delarosa, health academy junior, said.
Many of the players did very good and placed. They will continue there season when they head to Valley center on April 6 and KT Woodman on April 12-13. Then they will go to Holcomb on the April 20.
