Buffalo Bowling strike out the competition as their season comes to a close. Garden City High school’s bowling teams have stomped out the competition in past years.

The girl’s varsity team finished their regular season undefeated and are headed off to the state tournament after winning various tournaments, including the Carroll Baker tournament and the Western Athletic Conference WAC conference. Sophomore varsity bowler, Karly Larson says “this year has been an outstanding year with most of the team’s average increasing, my personal average last year was roughly 165, but this year I’m bowling on average a 188.” Larson and her team will be making their way to the state tournament in Wichita on March 21.

Garden’s boys varsity bowling team’s regular season has come to an end.

“The guys bowling season is over, but I individually qualified for the state tournament along with Caiden Orozco,” Brayden Bicket, varsity bowler, said.

As a whole, the season for the team went well, the team put up solid numbers everywhere they traveled to.

Bicket also said “Personally I did amazing this year, this is the highest my average has been ever. I am putting up scores that I never have before, I have improved so much this year and I’m so excited for next year. I think we will do really well next year. I am very honored to represent my team and the rest of GCHS at the state tournament on Thursday.”

Garden City High School’s junior varsity bowling season came to an end recently also. JV boys bowling season ended on Feb. 14, there is no State tournament for junior varsity teams.

Zane Roth, a player for JV boys bowling said “With the team as a whole, you win some you lose some. I improved drastically from my freshman year, I went to multiple varsity matches, and was either the first or second spot on JV at all times during the season. I’m very excited for next years season. I believe it will be really good for me and I’m excited to see how far all my team-mates will go with it here for a week.”
